In 1882, 15 years after immigrating to America in 1867 from Europe, Emil Quandel founded the family business in Cass Township near Minersville, Pennsylvania. The Quandel Group, Inc. has evolved from its humble origins as a limekiln operation and small construction company using horses and buggies into one of the Nation's premier providers of construction services.
The Quandel Group has remained in the hands of the Quandel family for four generations, providing clients with a unique stability of management and working philosophy seldom seen in business history anywhere.
Charles Quandel, well known for his directness and upright dealings in business, grew the company into building supplies and led it into a larger construction company around the turn of the century until 1937, when his oldest son, Noble Quandel, assumed leadership. Noble possessed a talent for design and became an architect. Consequently, his talent added design-build services to the other company services from 1937 until 1977. The corporation now operates under the leadership of Noble C. "Bud" Quandel, who has been the President & Chief Executive Officer since 1977. Owing largely to Bud's creative, entrepreneurial spirit, The Quandel Group today offers a full array of construction services operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region with full service offices in Harrisburg, Scranton, and Minersville, Pennsylvania and also the Mid-West Region with full service offices in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Quandel family built a strong foundation for this company based on principles of doing what is "right", a strong work ethic, a commitment to accountability, a commitment to teamwork, a commitment to respect, a commitment to listen and a commitment to strive for perfection.
